DENVER ~ Four Colorado Schools Receive National Blue Ribbon Award for Academic Excellence and Achievement Gap Closure
Today, the state of Colorado proudly announced that four of its schools have been awarded the prestigious National Blue Ribbon School Award. These schools have been recognized for their outstanding academic performance and their efforts in closing achievement gaps. Governor Jared Polis expressed his excitement and pride in this achievement, stating, "This is a high honor - Colorado is a leader in providing a high-quality education that helps students succeed and learn the skills needed to thrive." He also added that he looks forward to celebrating this accomplishment and sharing the successful strategies with other schools in Colorado.

Governor Polis has made it a priority to provide Colorado students with a high-quality education. As Chair of the National Governors Association, his Chairman Initiative "Let's Get Ready" focuses on ensuring that students acquire the necessary skills to succeed. This award serves as a testament to his dedication towards this goal.
Earlier this year, Governor Polis signed a bipartisan budget that fully funded schools for the first time since 2009. This historic budget allocated $141.2 million to eliminate the Budget Stabilization Factor, increased per-classroom funding by $16,000, and invested an additional $22.1 million into Colorado's popular Universal Preschool Initiative.
The National Blue Ribbon Award is a highly coveted recognition for schools across the country. The four Colorado schools receiving this award are shining examples of academic excellence and serve as an inspiration for other schools to strive towards providing a high-quality education for all students.
