Colorado: Governor Polis Announces Staff Update

DENVER ~ Colorado Gov. Jared Polis announced that Legislative Director Eleni Angelides is leaving his office to become executive director of Founded Colorado, a new organization focused on supporting the state's homegrown companies.

Angelides, who has served in the Polis administration since February 2019, will leave the Governor's Office today. The organization aims to connect Colorado companies with policymakers and communities to strengthen the state's innovation ecosystem and help businesses grow in Colorado.

Polis credited Angelides with helping advance legislation on housing and zoning, including measures allowing accessory dwelling units, encouraging homes near transit and supporting condominium construction. He said her work helped make the state more competitive and improve residents' daily lives.

Angelides said serving in the administration for nearly eight years had been an honor and pointed to the administration's efforts to move Colorado forward. She said she would focus on helping local companies work with policymakers and other stakeholders to support innovation.

Polis thanked Angelides for her service and said he was pleased she would continue working to benefit the state in her new role.
