Colorado Springs: 11-year-old cancer survivor invites community to help Kids Crush Cancer

Trending...
~ Eleven-year-old Samantha Thannisch is inviting Colorado Springs residents to support children battling cancer at her annual Kids Crush Cancer fundraiser.

The event will take place Friday, Sept. 25, 2026, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Stonehaven Park. Proceeds will benefit Children's Hospital Colorado in Colorado Springs.

Samantha, the daughter of Colorado Springs Police Department dispatcher Steve Thannisch, was diagnosed with cancer at age five. After completing treatment, she began raising money for children and families facing pediatric cancer. Last year, neighbors and first responders joined her at the park for an afternoon of activities and fundraising.
