DENVER ~ Colorado Gov. Jared Polis appointed Jon R. Schumacher to the Gunnison County Court in the 7th Judicial District, according to a news release. The appointment is effective immediately and fills a vacancy created by the resignation of Judge Ashley Burgemeister.
Schumacher has been founding attorney at the Law Office of Schumacher & O'Loughlin, LLC, since 2011, handling civil and criminal matters, the release said. His previous roles included positions at Cliggett & Associates, Bachus, Schumacher & Schanker, and Wilson & Associates.

He earned a bachelor's degree from Colorado State University in 1990 and a law degree from the University of North Dakota in 1994.
