DENVER ~ In a recent announcement, Governor Polis has appointed Nicholas J. Campbell to the Jefferson County Court in the 1st Judicial District. This appointment comes after the retirement of the Honorable Keith Goman and is effective immediately.
Mr. Campbell brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having served as a Magistrate in the 1st Judicial District since 2023. In this position, he has primarily handled civil matters. Prior to that, he held various positions including Staff Attorney at the Colorado Education Association, Lead Deputy State Public Defender, and Senior Deputy State Public Defender at the Golden Office of the Colorado State Public Defender.

With a strong background in law and public defense, Mr. Campbell is well-equipped to serve on the Jefferson County Court. He earned his B.A. from Colorado College in 2008 and his J.D. from Vermont Law School in 2011.
The Governor's decision to appoint Mr. Campbell has been met with praise and confidence from those familiar with his work. His dedication and expertise make him a valuable addition to the Jefferson County Court bench.
