~ Water Street at the bridge and North 31st Street at Water Street will close starting Monday, Oct. 19, as Colorado Springs begins replacing the Water Street bridge near Camp Creek, the city said.
The closures are expected to remain in place through April 2027, when construction is scheduled to be complete. Drivers will not be able to pass through the work area, but access to nearby properties will remain open on both sides of the bridge.
Southbound drivers should take Dent Avenue west and Pike Drive south to reach North 31st Street south of the closure. Northbound traffic, including drivers coming from North 30th Street, should take Westmoor Drive west, Westmoor Place north and Chambers Drive northwest to reach Water Street west of the bridge.

Pedestrians should follow signed detours and temporary crossings on Water Street. Those traveling between the east and west sides of North 31st Street should use the existing pedestrian bridge and street crossing near Howbert Elementary School.
The city advised drivers and pedestrians to allow extra travel time, particularly during school arrival and dismissal, and to use caution near the work area. Detour details and a map are available at ColoradoSprings.gov/31stProjects.
