Colorado Springs: City invites residents to help shape housing and neighborhood investments

Trending...
~ Colorado Springs residents, community advocates and other stakeholders are invited to weigh in on how the city should use federal funding for affordable housing, homelessness prevention and neighborhood improvements.

The city will hold two public hearings to gather input for its 2027 Annual Action Plan, which will guide the use of U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development block grants to address the needs of low- and moderate-income residents.

The hearings are scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 3, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., and Wednesday, Nov. 4, from 6 to 7 p.m. Both will be held in person at the City Administration Building, 30 S. Nevada Ave., Room 102, and online. Attendance is free.

The city's federal grants include the Community Development Block Grant, HOME Investment Partnerships Program and Emergency Solutions Grant. Funding supports affordable housing, homelessness prevention, nonprofit assistance and neighborhood infrastructure projects, according to the city.
