DENVER ~ Colorado Gov. Jared Polis congratulated Phil Weiser on his election as the state's 44th governor, saying he was confident Weiser would continue work on education funding, environmental protection, health care costs and housing.

In a statement, Polis said voters had chosen a candidate who shared a commitment to "building a Colorado for All." He described serving as governor as the greatest honor of his life and said his administration was ready to support a successful transition.

Weiser is scheduled to take office on Jan. 12, 2027.
