DENVER ~ In a move to fill a vacancy in the Arapahoe County Court, Governor Polis has appointed Garen D. Gervey as the newest judge in the 18th Judicial District. The appointment comes after the previous judge, Honorable Joshua J. Williford, was appointed to the 18th Judicial District Court.
Mr. Gervey brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having served as a District Court Magistrate in the 18th Judicial District since 2024. His docket primarily consists of domestic matters. Prior to this, he held various positions in the State Public Defender's Office in Golden, including Lead Deputy Public Defender and Senior Deputy Public Defender.

In addition, Mr. Gervey has also worked as a Law Clerk for both the United States District Court for the District of Colorado and the First Judicial District Court. He holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of California San Diego and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Colorado Law School.
The appointment is effective immediately and Mr. Gervey is ready to take on his new responsibilities as a judge in Arapahoe County Court.
