~ The Colorado Springs Police Department and SCHEELS will host the sixth annual Balltoberfest on Oct. 10, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the SCHEELS store at 1226 Interquest Parkway in Colorado Springs.

The department said Chief Vasquez and other guests will deliver a ceremonial first ball at 10 a.m. for PlayCOS, a program that provides patrol officers with sports balls to give to children and teens during their shifts.

Community members are invited to donate new sports balls, including footballs, soccer balls and basketballs. The event will also feature a law enforcement vehicle display, games, food vendors and a 20% discount on sports balls at SCHEELS, according to the department.
