DENVER ~ Governor Polis has announced the appointment of Leslee K. Balten to the Eagle County Court in the 5th Judicial District. This decision was made in accordance with Senate Bill 25-024 and will be effective as of July 1, 2026.
Ms. Balten brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having served as a Partner and Breckenridge Office Manager at Ciancio Ciancio Brown, P.C. since 2017. Her practice focuses on domestic and civil matters, and she also holds positions as a Mediator and Arbitrator at Divorce Resolutions, LLC since 2023.

Prior to her current roles, Ms. Balten worked as an Associate Attorney at West Brown Huntley, P.C. from 2016 to 2017 and at Ciancio Ciancio Brown, P.C. from 2011 to 2016. She also served as Program Director at Electric Utility Consultants, Inc. from 2010 to 2011 and as a Law Clerk for the Honorable Catherine A. Lemon from 2007 to 2010.
Ms. Balten's impressive education includes a B.A. from Michigan State University in 2000 and a J.D. from Vermont Law School in 2007.
With her extensive legal background and dedication to serving the community, Ms. Balten is well-equipped to take on her new role as a judge in the Eagle County Court.
