The family ~ Colorado Springs, CO - The City and Downtown Partnership of Colorado Springs are gearing up for the holiday season with the return of the Acacia Holiday Celebration and Skate in the Park. The family-friendly event will take place on Friday, Nov. 15 at 6 p.m. in Acacia Park and is free and open to the public.
Attendees can look forward to a variety of activities including pictures with Santa, a special ceremony featuring remarks from Mayor Yemi Mobolade and Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Director Britt Haley, food trucks, a U.S. Figure Skating performance, and festive bell ringers.
But that's not all - Skate in the Park will also be kicking off on Friday with public skating sessions from 4 to 6 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tickets can be purchased on site for $13 per session.
This popular program, organized by the City of Colorado Springs Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department and Downtown Partnership of Colorado Springs, draws an average of 22,000 people each season. Admission for skating is $13 per person and includes skate rental. Children under 4 years old can skate for free with a paid adult. Military personnel and first responders can also receive a $1 discount with a valid ID.

Throughout the season, there will be various activities offered such as skating with the Air Force Falcons Hockey Team and U.S. Figure Skating. The annual tradition will run until Jan. 31.
The event is made possible by generous sponsors including presenting sponsor Academy Bank, gold sponsors Metronet and The Gazette, silver sponsors Early Connections, Groundworks, Tallgrass Energy and U.S. Figure Skating, as well as bronze sponsor the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center at Colorado College.
Radio station Sunny 106.3 will also be joining in on the festivities with live giveaways from 4 to 6 p.m. on Nov. 15.
The Acacia Park Holiday Celebration will kick off at 6 p.m. with food trucks, festive bell ringers, and a chance to take a photo with Santa. At 6:20 p.m., there will be opening remarks followed by a breathtaking performance by U.S. Figure Skating athletes at 6:40 p.m. And at 7 p.m., it's time to hit the ice!
