Colorado Springs: Motorcyclist Identified from Fatal Crash in the 4100 Block of Drennan Road

~ Colorado Springs, CO - On the evening of July 19, 2025, a tragic single-vehicle traffic crash occurred on Drennan Road. According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, officers were dispatched to the scene at approximately 10:52 PM.

Upon arrival, it was discovered that a motorcycle had crashed and the rider had been ejected. Despite medical personnel responding to the scene, the rider was pronounced deceased. The Major Crash Team Detectives were called in to take over the investigation.

Preliminary findings suggest that the motorcycle was traveling at a high speed and failed to navigate a roundabout, resulting in the crash. Two days later, on July 21, 2025, an autopsy was conducted by the El Paso County Coroner's Office on the deceased rider. The rider has been identified as 27-year-old Johnny Givens.

This tragic incident marks the thirty-first traffic fatality in Colorado Springs this year. Shockingly, this number is identical to last year's tally at this time. In just one year, there have been a total of 49 traffic-related fatalities in Colorado Springs. The police department urges all drivers to exercise caution and follow traffic laws to prevent further tragedies on our roads.
