Colorado Springs: Motorcyclist identified from fatal crash at Constitution Avenue and Sierra Drive

Release Number: 2508 ~ Colorado Springs, CO - On the evening of July 29, 2025, a tragic traffic accident occurred at the intersection of Constitution Avenue and Sierra Drive. The Colorado Springs Police Department received a call at approximately 9:05 PM reporting a collision between a motorcycle and a mid-size SUV.

According to reports, medical personnel arrived at the scene and transported the motorcycle rider, identified as an adult male, and his passenger, an adult female, to a nearby hospital. The Major Crash Team was also called in to investigate the incident.

Sadly, the driver of the motorcycle later succumbed to his injuries. The El Paso County Coroner's Office conducted an autopsy on July 30 and identified the deceased as 28-year-old Christopher James Easton.

Investigations revealed that the SUV was traveling southbound on Sierra Drive while the motorcycle was heading westbound on Constitution Avenue in the right lane. As the SUV attempted to make a left turn, the motorcycle swerved to avoid it but ended up colliding with its left side. This impact caused both riders to be ejected from their vehicle.

This tragic accident marks the 34th traffic fatality in Colorado Springs this year alone. Comparatively, at this time last year there were only 32 traffic-related fatalities in the city. In just 365 days, there have been a total of 51 traffic fatalities in Colorado Springs.

The Colorado Springs Police Department urges all drivers to exercise caution and follow traffic laws to prevent further tragedies on our roads. Our thoughts go out to all those affected by this devastating incident.
