~ Colorado Springs, CO - The City of Colorado Springs and Trails and Open Space Coalition (TOSC) are teaming up to host a community cleanup event on Saturday, Aug. 23. The event, called Keep It Clean COS, will take place from 9 a.m. to noon along the Pikes Peak Greenway Trail around Monument Valley Park.
Keep It Clean COS is a citywide effort aimed at removing trash from medians, streets, and other public rights of way. This initiative is made possible by the hard work of City departments, the support of community partners, and the everyday actions of Colorado Springs residents.
Since its inception in 2023, Keep It Clean COS has made a significant impact on the city's cleanliness. According to data provided by the initiative, 7,890,000 square feet of medians have been cleaned and over 77,950 labor hours have been logged for trash cleanup.

The upcoming cleanup event is sponsored by TOSC, Cumulus Media, Phil Long Dealerships, and Earthwise Waste Solutions. Participants are encouraged to bring water and wear pants and closed-toed shoes. All necessary supplies such as pickers, gloves, and trash bags will be provided. Those interested in participating can meet at the east lawn at Monument Valley Park. Parking is available in Monument Valley Park and along Mesa Road.
