~ As part of the ongoing Tejon Street Revitalization Project, southbound traffic on Tejon Street, north of Pikes Peak Avenue, will be affected by a traffic lane shift starting Monday, Aug. 4 through Friday, Aug. 8. According to Colorado Springs Utilities, the shift is necessary for utility work to take place.
Motorists and pedestrians can expect the southbound lane of Tejon to be redirected into the center turn lane for approximately 200 feet. This will allow crews to replace an aging water valve on Monday night and move a fire hydrant late Tuesday night. The work will involve heavy equipment and excavation of the street.
