Colorado Springs: Finalists for 2026 Mayor’s Young Leader Awards announced

~ The Mayor's Office has named 21 finalists for the annual Mayor's Young Leader Awards, which recognize professionals ages 18 to 40 for their professional and volunteer contributions in Colorado Springs.

Finalists were selected in seven categories, with one winner in each to be announced at a ceremony scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 6:30 p.m. at The Pinery at the Hill, 775 W. Bijou St. The event will be emceed by Matt Meister, founder of Peak2Plains and chief meteorologist.

The Community Impact finalists are Alie Ehrensaft of Inside Out Youth Services, Craig Carle of the Colorado Springs Chamber & EDC, and Skyler Nelson of Bailey Military Support.

In Creative Industry, the finalists are Jonathan Toman of the Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region, Kai Gaynor of Concrete Couch and a freelance artist and community arts advocate, and Matthew Beem of MBeem10, LLC.

Economic Impact finalists are Max Cupp of Exponential Impact, Lindsay Brown of Swinerton, and Gilberto Santiago of Haselden Construction. The Education finalists are Caleb Ulliman of the Colorado Springs School of Technology/D11, Laith Al-Shawaf of the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, and Bree Shellito of Wings Credit Union.

The Military Leaders finalists are Gabriela Wodka, Andrew T. Cabral and Zeta Breon, all of the United States Space Force. In Sports, Health & Wellness, the finalists are Shauna Jackson of Sweetgrass Advocacy and School District 11 Indian Education Program, Davis Tutt of the Colorado Springs Sports Corporation, and Emily Brady of the National Alliance on Mental Illness Colorado Springs.

Technology & Sustainability finalists are Steven Aljest of D.A.R.T., Denis Tudor of Swisspod, and Logan Ruths of ORRS.ai.
