~ The Colorado Springs City Council has received Mayor's proposed 2027 city budget, beginning its review and approval process for the next fiscal year.
Under the City Charter, the council must approve the annual budget by ordinance, with or without amendments. The city invited residents to comment at a public hearing scheduled for Oct. 26 at 5:30 p.m. in City Council Chambers at City Hall, 107 North Nevada Ave.
The council's budget work session is scheduled for Oct. 15 at 9 a.m., followed by a markup session on Oct. 29 at 9 a.m. The budget ordinance is set for its first reading at the council's regular meeting on Nov. 10 at 9 a.m., with a second reading and vote scheduled for Nov. 24 at 9 a.m.

The city said all meetings and hearings will be held in City Council Chambers, are open to the public and can be viewed on SpringsTV, Comcast channels 18 and 880 (HD), StratusIQ channel 99 and the City Council's Facebook page. Dates and times may change; the city directs residents to ColoradoSprings.gov/CityCouncil for updates.
The city also said residents who need disability-related accommodations should submit requests as soon as possible and at least 48 hours before the scheduled meeting. Requests can be sent to allcouncil@coloradosprings.gov or made by calling the City Council Office at 719-385-5986. Relay Colorado is available by dialing 711 or 800-659-3656.
