~ The City of Colorado Springs is seeking input from residents, advocates, and stakeholders to shape the city's plans for affordable housing and community development. The Housing and Homelessness Response Department has announced that they will be holding free public meetings to gather feedback and ideas for the 2025-2029 Consolidated Plan and 2025 Annual Action Plan.
These plans, which are completed every five years, serve as a framework for addressing the community's affordable housing needs and market conditions. They also guide decisions on how to allocate resources to best serve the needs of low- and moderate-income residents in Colorado Springs. The Annual Action Plan outlines specific actions, activities, and resources that will be used to address priority needs identified in the Consolidated Plan.
The public meetings will take place on Wednesday, November 20 from 6 to 7 p.m. and Thursday, November 21 from 1 to 2 p.m. at the City Administration Building in room 102 (30 S. Nevada Ave.). For those unable to attend in person, there is also an option to join online through Teams.

Funding for these plans comes from federal block grants provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). These funds support a variety of initiatives such as affordable housing, homelessness prevention, economic development, nonprofit assistance, and neighborhood improvements for low- and moderate-income residents. The grant fund sources include the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME), and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) Program.
