~ Colorado Springs Airport Sees Increase in Summer Travel
The Colorado Springs Airport (COS) has reported a significant increase in passenger traffic for the month of June. According to the latest statistics, a total of 234,890 passengers traveled through the airport, marking a 10 percent increase from the same period last year.
Out of this number, 116,427 passengers boarded flights from COS, showing an 8 percent increase compared to June 2023. The airport also reported a rise in available seats with a total of 136,597, representing a 9.5 percent increase from last year. The majority of these seats were filled with an average load factor of 85.2 percent.
Greg Phillips, Director of Aviation for COS, attributed the surge in summer travel to the airport's continuous efforts to improve and expand its services despite ongoing construction and development projects. "Summer is always a busy travel time for COS, and this summer has not only proven that to be true but it's happened through a significant period of construction and development in the terminal and around the airport," said Phillips.
