DENVER ~ In Denver, Governor Polis has taken action to support Coloradans during extreme weather conditions. Today, he issued two Executive Orders, the first of which affirms his verbal order from January 11, 2024. This declaration of a state of disaster emergency was made in response to the extreme cold temperatures and winter weather that have been affecting Colorado. The Governor also activated the National Guard to provide assistance during this severe winter weather.

The second Executive Order issued by Governor Polis provides additional financial assistance for the Hazardous Materials Incident in Fremont County. This includes an allocation of $220,000 for DNA testing related to the incident.
