Animas Excavating, a licensed and insured excavation contractor serving Bayfield, has launched a new page for Bayfield property owners and builders. It lays out the order of work on a raw parcel, from clearing and grading to utilities, septic, and finish grading, and why the excavator comes before the builder, the plumber, and the electrician. The full page is at the Bayfield excavation page.
BAYFIELD, Colo. - ColoradoDesk -- The first question about any Bayfield parcel is whether it sits inside town limits or outside them. The answer changes the permit office, the water and sewer connection, and the order of work, so Animas checks it first when a property owner calls.
Parcels outside town limits need their own permitted septic system before anyone can build or occupy. La Plata County Public Health issues the permit and sends the inspector, and owner Mike Zarlingo is a licensed OWTS installer. Animas does soil analysis first. The results range from a conventional system to an engineered design, a mounded system, or an advanced treatment unit. More detail is on the septic system and OWTS installation page.

Estimates are free. Animas starts with a short exploration call, then looks at the parcel, reviews the plans, and sends a written bid, at a fixed cost when the scope is known and on time and materials when ground conditions are uncertain. Property owners can read the site preparation page for a full scope, request a free estimate from the Bayfield page, or call (970) 403-2787.
