Colorado Springs Police Department and Police Executive Research Forum release CSPD training study

~ The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) has recently announced that they have contracted the Police Executive Research Forum (PERF) to conduct a thorough review of their training programs. This includes training in the use of force and defensive tactics, de-escalation techniques, procedural justice, and response to individuals in crisis. The report from PERF was completed last week and will be publicly released and presented at the Police Operations Center on Thursday, September 26, 2024.

The presentation will feature remarks from Colorado Springs Mayor Yemi Mobolade and CSPD Chief Adrian Vasquez. Additionally, PERF personnel who conducted the study will provide a briefing on their findings. CSPD is extending an invitation to local media partners and members of the public to attend this presentation. All are welcome to join on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. as CSPD takes a step towards transparency and accountability in their training programs.
