This is not the first time Phil Long Dealerships has shown their support for the city's initiatives. Last year, they donated nearly $14,000 to the City's 1,000 Neighborhood Gatherings initiative. These donations are part of their annual "Thanks, Jay" giveback campaign held in honor of their previous President and CEO Jay Cimino who passed away in 2024. For every new and pre-owned vehicle sold in April, donations are made to five community-focused organizations and projects.

According to Shaughnessy, this philanthropic effort is a way for them to carry on Cimino's legacy of connecting others with resources to be their best. He also thanked their customers for their continued trust which allows them to make a positive impact in Colorado Springs. The dealership has been a part of the community since 1945.
