~ Colorado Springs, CO - On July 5, 2025, the Colorado Springs Police Department responded to a call for service regarding a crash on South Circle Drive over Hancock Expressway. According to reports, two vehicles were traveling southbound on Circle Drive when vehicle two struck the rear end of vehicle one. The impact caused two passengers who were unrestrained in the bed of the pickup truck to be ejected.
Upon arrival at the scene, authorities determined that one of the passengers had sustained serious injuries and was transported from the scene for medical treatment. Unfortunately, despite medical intervention, the second passenger succumbed to their injuries at the scene. The driver of vehicle two was arrested on the spot for driving under the influence.
Two days later, on July 7, 2025, an autopsy was conducted by the El Paso County Coroner's Office on the deceased passenger from vehicle one. The victim has been identified as 20-year-old Fernando Gallardo-Franco. However, this was not the only fatality from this tragic incident.
