~ Colorado Springs Airport Sees Increase in Passenger Traffic in June 2025
The Colorado Springs Airport (COS) has reported a slight increase in passenger traffic for the month of June 2025. According to airport officials, 235,642 travelers passed through the terminal, marking a 0.3 percent rise compared to the same period last year.
This is the second consecutive month of year-over-year growth for COS, following initial lower-than-expected numbers earlier in 2025. The airport attributes this positive shift to increased seat availability, which rose by 5.5 percent due to aircraft upgrades that increased capacity.
However, despite the increase in seat availability, the average load factor declined by 4.1 percent to 81.1 percent compared to June 2024. Despite this decline, COS remains focused on strategic and long-term growth through expanded air service offerings and airline partnerships.
"We are pleased to see a continued growth in passenger volumes as summer travel demand strengthens," said an airport spokesperson.
In addition to the increase in passenger traffic, Monday, June 30 marked a significant milestone for COS as it recorded its busiest day on record at the TSA security checkpoint with 4,935 travelers passing through. Daily checkpoint records date back to 2018.
