~ Colorado Springs Mayor Yemi Mobolade held a meeting today, October 25, with J.W. Roth, the Founder, Chairman and CEO of Venu Holding Corporation (VENU), and City Council President Randy Helms to discuss the upcoming 2024 concert season at the Ford Amphitheater and ongoing efforts to mitigate noise from the venue. The presentation from the meeting is now publicly available for review.
In a letter addressed to the community, Mayor Yemi addressed the concerns that were raised before the opening of the Ford Amphitheater in the Polaris Pointe neighborhood. These concerns included parking, traffic, and noise. The Mayor reported that after reviewing parking and traffic, they have received overwhelmingly positive feedback. However, noise remains an area of concern for some residents in nearby neighborhoods.
Throughout the 2024 concert season at the amphitheater, the City received numerous complaints about noise. In response to these concerns, Mayor Yemi personally met with Mr. Roth multiple times this year to address the issue. Their most recent meeting was held today.

During today's meeting, VENU presented a recap of their successful opening season at the amphitheater. According to data presented by VENU, over 100,000 people attended shows at the venue and individuals came from more than 5,000 zip codes. Local businesses also reported increased sales related to concert activity.
In addition to sharing their success from this past season, VENU also presented specific plans to further address sound mitigation. These plans include physical changes such as expanding solid surface walls and adding sound curtains and absorption panels. They are also working with expert consultants to determine ideal speaker locations for addressing low frequency noise. Proposals are also being reviewed to reduce decibel limits and end times for non-weekend shows.

VENU has committed to providing a more specific timeline for these steps in the coming weeks. Additionally, next week, the City will release the results of an independent noise study commissioned by City Council President Helms and Mayor Yemi to track noise levels from the 2024 season.
