Additionally, the Executive Orders have authorized the deployment of the Colorado National Guard in an unarmed capacity to assist with evacuations and mitigation efforts. In order to provide more flexibility for emergency medical service providers during this time of crisis, certain statutes and regulations from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment have been suspended under the guidance of the Colorado Department of Public Safety.
As of August 9, 2026, the Indian Creek Fire has burned a total of 30 acres in Jackson County and is now fully contained. The 310 Fire in Garfield County has burned a larger area of 603 acres but is also now fully contained as of August 19, 2026.
