~ The City of Colorado Springs has announced that they will be making adjustments to the Pikes Peak parking lot retaining wall schedule in order to ensure greater structural support and safety. Originally, the work was set to be completed by the end of May, but due to the need for additional support, the project will now continue into mid-June.
Located north of Colorado Avenue between 25th and 26th Streets, the parking lot will still be open for Territory Days, which takes place during Memorial Day weekend in Old Colorado City. However, only 1-3 stalls will be unavailable during this time due to ongoing construction. To accommodate attendees of Territory Days, the city is encouraging people to utilize the free shuttle service from the City Administration Building's parking garage at 30 South Nevada Avenue. This shuttle service costs only $1 per hour and is free on Sundays.

Once Territory Days are over, construction on the retaining wall will resume with a targeted completion date in mid-June. During this final phase of construction, activity will only occur in the upper parking area.
For those who may need alternate parking options during this time, there are several locations available including the east side of Pikes Peak lot, Cucharras Lot (2422 W. Cucharras Street), and Colorado Alley Lot (2617 W. Colorado Avenue). More information about parking can be found on www.coloradosprings.gov/parking.
Anyone with concerns or questions about this project can reach out to City Engineering at City.Engineering@coloradosprings.gov or by phone at (719) 385-5918. The city is committed to ensuring a smooth and safe construction process for all involved.
