STATEWIDE ~ CDP, a global non-profit organization dedicated to promoting environmental transparency, has announced that Colorado has been named to its prestigious 2024 A-list. This recognition is reserved for states and regions that have demonstrated exceptional commitment to addressing climate change and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Out of the 92 states and regions that disclosed their environmental data, Colorado is one of only two to receive this designation. In addition, 37 cities in the United States, including Aspen, Boulder, Denver, Fort Collins, and Lakewood, have also been recognized for their efforts.

To be considered for the A-list status, states and local governments had to meet strict criteria set by CDP. This included publishing an emissions inventory, conducting a climate risk assessment, and developing a climate action plan. Furthermore, A-listers must be actively working towards achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 or sooner and tracking their progress towards this goal.
