Inaugural Viva La Isla Del Encanto Fest to Celebrate Puerto Rican Culture in Colorado
AURORA, Colo. - ColoradoDesk -- The City of Aurora has officially proclaimed July 26, 2025, as Island of Enchantment Day, recognizing the cultural, historical, and societal contributions of Puerto Rican residents in Aurora and across Colorado. The proclamation was signed by Mayor Mike Coffman and announced in coordination with the launch of a brand-new cultural celebration: the Viva La Isla Del Encanto Festival.
This inaugural festival, hosted by Nieves Ministries and the Puerto Rican Chamber of Commerce of Colorado, will take place on Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Bicentennial Park in Aurora. The event is free to attend and open to the public.
"This isn't just about a festival; it's about recognizing the deep heritage and the vital contributions of Puerto Rican families in Aurora," said Alexander Nieves, Executive Director of Nieves Ministries. "We're honored that the City of Aurora is standing with us to celebrate culture, community, and unity."
