Mayor Yemi said the following regarding the end of the federal government shutdown:

"I am encouraged by the actions taken by Congress and the President to end the longest partial government shutdown in U.S. history. For our residents in Colorado Springs, we are relieved that SNAP benefits will restart soon, we are thankful that federal employees are returning to work and getting paid, including those who support our military, and we are confident that flight operations at the Colorado Springs Airport will resume normal operations."
