~ Colorado Springs - Marksheffel Road will experience closures and traffic pattern changes in the upcoming days as crews work to improve the road's drainage system. The closure will take place from south of Stetson Hills Boulevard to north of Barnes Road, starting on Wednesday and Thursday (April 30 and May 1) overnight, and continuing through the weekend of May 2-5.
The project involves the installation of six drainage pipes that require deep excavations across the road. In addition, a new traffic pattern will be implemented as part of the work. To ensure the safety of workers and drivers, Marksheffel Road will be closed to all traffic during these times.
According to officials, the closure will take place from 7 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. on April 30 and May 1, and from 7 p.m. on Friday, May 2 until 5:30 a.m. on Monday, May 5. A signed detour route has been established for Marksheffel Road travelers, directing them to use Peterson Road between Stetson Hills Boulevard and Barnes Road.
