Colorado: Governor Polis Appoints Michal A. Lord-Blegen to the 17th Judicial District Court

DENVER ~ Governor Polis has announced the appointment of Michal A. Lord-Blegen to the 17th Judicial District Court, filling the vacancy left by the retirement of Honorable Rayna Gokli. The appointment will take effect on June 7, 2025.

Ms. Lord-Blegen brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having served as a Magistrate in the Seventeenth Judicial District since 2020. In this position, she has primarily handled juvenile matters. Prior to that, she was a Magistrate in the Second Judicial District from 2016 to 2020.

In addition to her judicial experience, Ms. Lord-Blegen also has a strong background in law practice. She was previously the Managing Partner at Wohl Stetler Lord-Blegen, PLLC from 2012 to 2016 and ran her own law firm, Michal Lord-Blegen, from 2010 to 2012. She also worked as an Associate Attorney at Mitch Baker from 2010 to 2011.

Ms. Lord-Blegen's education includes a B.A. from Hood College in 1990 and a J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2009. Her extensive experience and qualifications make her a valuable addition to the judiciary in Colorado's Seventeenth Judicial District.
