~ Colorado Springs is gearing up to celebrate Earth Day on Tuesday, April 22 with a variety of events and initiatives aimed at promoting environmental awareness and community engagement. The public is invited to participate in these free activities, which range from city-wide clean-ups to educational workshops.

One of the main events is the fourth annual Three Parks. Three Days, organized by the Friends of Peregrine Parks & Open Spaces, Guardians of Palmer Park, and the Friends of Ute Valley Park. This event will take place from April 25-27 at Blodgett Open Space, Palmer Park, and Ute Valley Park respectively. Volunteers of all skill levels are encouraged to join in on activities such as removing invasive plants, restoring trails, reseeding, and cleaning up trash.

Interested volunteers can find more information and sign up at Three Parks. Three Days I Volunteer Sign Up. It is recommended that volunteers wear sturdy outdoor clothes, including durable shoes or boots, eye protection, and work gloves.

On April 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center will host the 28th Annual Garden of the Gods Earth Day Celebration. This free event will feature interactive activities for all ages including live demonstrations, educational booths, crafts, and live animal experiences. Free parking will be available at the Visitor Center with additional parking in Parking Lot 1 at the corner of Gateway Road and 30th Street.
