~ Colorado Springs is gearing up to celebrate Earth Day on Tuesday, April 22 with a variety of events and initiatives aimed at promoting environmental awareness and community engagement. The public is invited to participate in these free activities, which range from city-wide clean-ups to educational workshops.
One of the main events is the fourth annual Three Parks. Three Days, organized by the Friends of Peregrine Parks & Open Spaces, Guardians of Palmer Park, and the Friends of Ute Valley Park. This event will take place from April 25-27 at Blodgett Open Space, Palmer Park, and Ute Valley Park respectively. Volunteers of all skill levels are encouraged to join in on activities such as removing invasive plants, restoring trails, reseeding, and cleaning up trash.
Interested volunteers can find more information and sign up at Three Parks. Three Days I Volunteer Sign Up. It is recommended that volunteers wear sturdy outdoor clothes, including durable shoes or boots, eye protection, and work gloves.
On April 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center will host the 28th Annual Garden of the Gods Earth Day Celebration. This free event will feature interactive activities for all ages including live demonstrations, educational booths, crafts, and live animal experiences. Free parking will be available at the Visitor Center with additional parking in Parking Lot 1 at the corner of Gateway Road and 30th Street.

The goal of this annual celebration is to provide family fun while educating attendees about the environment through green thinking and living. More information can be found at Earth Day Celebration 2025 at Garden of the Gods.
In addition to these events, Colorado Springs will also be participating in Keep America Beautiful's Great American Cleanup on May 3 from 9 a.m. to noon. More than 20 sites throughout the Pikes Peak region will be hosting clean-up events as part of this initiative. Volunteers can register for a site of their choice, including several City trails and parks, at Great American Cleanup® - Fountain Creek Watershed District. Trash bags and safety vests will be provided, but participants should come prepared with durable shoes or boots and work gloves. Children under the age of 16 must be supervised by an adult.
