Colorado: Governor Polis: U.S. Supreme Court Makes it More Difficult to Protect Constitutional Rights, Creates Chaos

Trending...
DENVER ~ In a recent statement, Colorado Governor Jared Polis expressed his disappointment with the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling that will make it more difficult to defend constitutional rights and create uncertainty around the right to birthright citizenship. The ruling does not provide a clear answer on the issue of birthright citizenship, but instead limits the power of lower courts to issue nationwide injunctions.

Governor Polis believes that this decision will only add confusion and roadblocks in defending what should be basic rights guaranteed by the Constitution for over a century. He also fears that this ruling will result in continued uncertainty for Americans. This comes after Colorado, along with more than twenty other states, filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration's Executive Order to end birthright citizenship.

"This is a sad day," Governor Polis stated. "President Trump's unlawful executive order and this decision weaken our ability to protect well-established constitutional rights. It creates a patchwork where some states may uphold these rights while others may roll them back."

The governor emphasized that Colorado will continue to fight for its constitution regardless of who is in Washington. He also called on other defenders of the Constitution across the country to speak up against this dangerous decision.

"In Colorado, we are committed to expanding rights and freedoms, not rolling them back," Governor Polis declared. "These constant attacks on our Constitutional rights will not go unnoticed."
