DENVER ~ Denver, CO - Governor Jared Polis has officially signed several bills into law, marking a significant step forward for the state of Colorado. These bills were sponsored by various representatives and senators and cover a range of important issues.
One of the bills, HB25-1133, focuses on requirements for the sale of firearms ammunition. It was sponsored by Representatives Monica Duran and Lindsay Gilchrist, as well as Senators Judy Amabile and Cathy Kipp. This bill aims to regulate the sale of ammunition in order to promote safety and responsible gun ownership.
Another bill signed into law is HB25-1201, also known as the Model Money Transmission Modernization Act. This bipartisan bill was sponsored by Representative Bob Marshall and Senators Nick Hinrichsen and Larry Liston. Its goal is to modernize money transmission laws in Colorado.
In addition, SB25-087 addresses academic adjustments in higher education. Sponsored by Senator Janice Marchman and Representatives Rebekah Stewart and Max Brooks, this bipartisan bill aims to provide necessary accommodations for students with disabilities in higher education settings.

Governor Polis also signed SB25-143, which extends the prohibition on school facial recognition technology. This bipartisan bill was sponsored by Senators Lindsey Daugherty and Paul Lundeen, along with Representatives Ryan Armagost and Michael Carter.
Other notable bills that were signed into law include SB25-172, which allows for uncontested special director district election cancellations; SB25-058, which focuses on insurance rebate reform; HB25-1018, which addresses vocational rehabilitation services; HB25-1217, which provides consumer protections for funeral services; HB25-1166, which aims to reduce food waste; and HB25-1238, which sets requirements for gun shows.
Governor Polis expressed his support for these bills in a signing statement released alongside their official signing. He believes that these laws will have a positive impact on the state and its citizens. With the signing of these bills, Colorado is taking important steps towards progress and improvement in various areas.
