DENVER ~ Colorado Governor Jared Polis congratulated President-elect Donald Trump and Vice-President-elect JD Vance on their election victory today. In a statement released by his office, Governor Polis expressed his commitment to protecting freedom, choice, and the opportunity for all Coloradans to build the life they want in the state.
"Congratulations to President-elect Donald Trump," said Governor Polis. "Colorado remains strongly committed to protecting freedom, choice, and the opportunity for everyone to build the life they want in our great state. That is true no matter who is serving in the White House and I will work with the President-elect however I can to save people money, create more good-paying jobs, increase access to housing Coloradans can afford, protect our water and air quality, and improve our roads and bridges."
Governor Polis also urged President-elect Trump and Vice-President-elect Vance to use this opportunity to unite the country and set aside divisive rhetoric from the campaign. He emphasized that Colorado will continue to be a beacon of economic liberty and personal liberty, reflecting the values on which this country was built.

"We hope that President-elect Trump and Vice-President-Elect Vance take this opportunity to try to unite our country and set aside the campaign's divisive rhetoric," said Governor Polis. "No matter what, the Free State of Colorado will remain a beacon that reflects the values of economic liberty and personal liberty that this country was built on, and we will do everything in our power to protect all Coloradans and our freedoms."
Governor Polis also took a moment to thank Vice-President Kamala Harris for her service to the country during her historic campaign.

Under Governor Jared Polis's leadership, Colorado has been at the forefront of important issues in this election. The state has saved families thousands of dollars every year through its free preschool and kindergarten programs, built more affordable housing near transit options, and is on track to achieve 100% renewable energy. Additionally, Colorado has saved its residents money on healthcare and has prioritized protecting individual freedom and choice.
