~ The City of Colorado Springs has recently announced the appointment of Jason T. Strickland as its new Chief Communications Officer. With over 25 years of leadership experience in various sectors, Strickland brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his new role.
Prior to joining the City, Strickland served as the Chief Communications Officer for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Rocky Mountain Network. In this position, he led a team of 22 individuals in developing and implementing a comprehensive communications strategy for the region. His success in this role is a testament to his strong leadership skills and ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences.
Strickland's impressive background also includes serving as a monthly columnist for The Colorado Springs Gazette and as the Chief Development Officer for a veteran-support nonprofit organization. These experiences have further solidified his deep ties to the local community and his passion for veteran affairs.

In his new position, Strickland will be responsible for overseeing the City's strategic and crisis communications, media relations, and branding efforts. His goal is to inform and engage residents through effective communication strategies.
As part of this transition, Joe Hollmann, who has been serving as Acting Chief Communications Officer, will now take on the role of Deputy Communications Officer. He will support Strickland in his new position while ensuring that the department continues to maintain its high standards of excellence.
The City of Colorado Springs is confident that with Strickland at the helm, their communications efforts will reach new heights and strengthen their relationship with residents.
