DENVER ~ Denver - In response to the recent flooding in Western Colorado, Governor Polis has issued a verbal disaster declaration to aid in recovery efforts. The Governor has been closely monitoring the situation and state public safety leaders have been in constant communication with local emergency management.

Prior to the declaration, state resources such as the Colorado Department of Public Safety's Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (DHSEM), Colorado State Patrol, and Division of Fire Prevention and Control, as well as the Colorado Department of Transportation and Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, were already involved in the emergency response.
