~ On Thursday, October 16, 2025, the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) Armed Violent Offenders (AVO) Unit carried out a search warrant at an apartment in the 1600 block of North Murray Boulevard. The search was part of an ongoing investigation into a shooting in Colorado Springs that was linked to a smash-and-grab burglary in Security-Widefield.
According to blotter #35690, one juvenile was apprehended without any resistance at the apartment on North Murray Boulevard. However, detectives soon discovered that another suspect involved in the burglary was currently at school. When authorities arrived at the school to make contact with the suspect, he attempted to flee. A foot chase ensued and during this time, the suspect tried to carjack multiple occupied vehicles that were stopped on westbound Vickers Drive at the intersection of Vickers Drive and North Academy Boulevard.

The juvenile suspect is described as a White/Hispanic male, approximately 5'7" tall with a slim build and weighing around 130 lbs. He has short brown hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a grey hoodie and baggy blue jeans. The suspect was eventually apprehended near the intersection without further incident.
Both juveniles are now facing multiple charges including burglary, motor vehicle theft, criminal mischief, attempted robbery, and kidnapping. The CSPD believes that there may be other victims who have been targeted by these two suspects. As such, they are urging anyone who may have been a victim of an attempted carjacking at the intersection of Vickers Drive and North Academy or any other related crimes to come forward and contact CSPD at 719-444-7000.
The investigation into this case is still ongoing and authorities are working diligently to gather more information. The CSPD is committed to ensuring the safety of its citizens and will continue to provide updates as they become available.
