DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Swimlane, the leader in low-code security automation, today announced it will host Mullen High School at its U.S. headquarters in observance of National Computer Science Week. The students will join the Swimlane team in the office on Dec. 6 from 9:15 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. MT.
WHAT: CSEdWeek is an annual call to action to inspire K-12 students to learn computer science, advocate for equity in computer science education and celebrate the contributions of students, teachers, and partners to the field. To answer that call, Swimlane has invited Mullen High School to see first-hand how the computer science skills they develop now can lead to great opportunities in the future. The students will experience various roles and opportunities within a high-tech, cutting-edge cybersecurity industry leader. They'll learn how these computer science skills can allow them to transform any industry through innovation—just as low-code security automation is changing the landscape of the cybersecurity industry today.
WHY: "I believe computer science education is more important than ever in our schools. It is the great economic equalizer in workforce development that allows any individual an opportunity to change their circumstances no matter their background. I have four kids, three who enjoy coding and one who is a passionate educator, and as I've grown in my career and witnessed my children's journey in education I've been driven to lend my experiences and position to support computer science education," commented James Brear, CEO, Swimlane. "I started getting involved in my local community through Code.org's Hour of Code, local school district hackathons and tech meet-ups, and I was shocked when I realized how much impact I could have."

"Recently, a teacher from one of our local Denver schools reached out asking if he could share my information with a driven student. This young mind created a cybersecurity club for students passionate about taking their computer science skills to the next level. He asked if he could help organize a trip to our company office for him and his peers to learn more about our tech. Through this interaction, we at Swimlane realized we could offer exponential impact to these kids as a team, a company. A greater impact than if we each act alone. We are viewing this event as a pilot program. We hope that, in the future, we can continue to help nurture the curiosity of young minds in our community," concluded Brear.
AGENDA: Swimlane CEO, James Brear, will kick off the event at 9:15 a.m. MT to welcome attendees and introduce the sessions and speakers:
WHERE: 363 Centennial Parkway, Suite 210, Louisville, CO 80027, US
