Colorado: Governor Polis Appoints David K. Ottman to the 6th Judicial District Court

DENVER ~ In a recent announcement, Governor Polis has appointed David K. Ottman to the 6th Judicial District Court in Denver. This appointment comes after the Honorable Anthony Baca decided not to stand for retention, leaving a vacancy that will be effective on January 13, 2027.

Mr. Ottman brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having served as the owner of Ottman Law, LLC since 2022. His practice primarily focuses on civil matters and criminal defense. Prior to this, he held positions as an Assistant District Attorney and Deputy District Attorney in the 6th Judicial District Attorney's Office from 2009 to 2022 and from 2004 to 2009 respectively. He also served as a Deputy District Attorney in the 11th Judicial District Attorney's Office from 2004 to 2009 and worked as a Staff Attorney at Colorado Legal Services, Inc. from 2003 to 2004.

Mr. Ottman's legal career began in 2001 when he earned his J.D. from the University of Wyoming College of Law after completing his B.A. at the University of Colorado Boulder in 1995.
