Colorado Springs: Motorcyclist identified in fatal South Union Boulevard crash on August 29, 2026

~ On the evening of August 29, 2026, the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) received a report of a single-vehicle traffic crash in the 800 block of South Union Boulevard. According to initial reports, a motorcycle had crashed and officers and medical personnel were quick to respond to the scene.

Upon arrival, authorities discovered that the motorcycle had been traveling southbound on South Union Boulevard when it failed to navigate a curve and veered off the road. Tragically, the rider was pronounced dead at the scene. The Major Crash Team (MCT) was immediately notified and took over the investigation due to the severity of the incident.

The victim has since been identified as 48-year-old Clinton Eaton by the El Paso County Coroner's Office on September 2, 2026. This marks the 41st traffic fatality in Colorado Springs this year, with last year's total at this time being 38. In just one year, there have been a total of 56 traffic-related fatalities within city limits.
