Free backpacks, school supplies, food, music, games and community resources will help Denver families start the school year strong.
DENVER - ColoradoDesk -- Park Hill Financial District will host its 9th Annual Backpack 2 School Community Day on Saturday, August 1, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Skyland Park, 3300 Ivanhoe Street, Denver, CO 80207.
The free community celebration will connect children and families with backpacks, school supplies, food, games, a live DJ and community resources. The event gives students practical tools for the classroom while surrounding them with neighbors, volunteers and organizations committed to their success.
"Every backpack tells a young person that their community sees them, believes in them and wants them prepared for what comes next," said Vincent Owens of Park Hill Financial District. "Nine years of showing up has built a tradition families can count on."
