The bill aims to eliminate barriers for individuals with disabilities, including those aging into disabilities, by ensuring that all buildings in Colorado are designed with accessibility in mind. This will allow individuals to live comfortably and navigate their surroundings without limitations, regardless of where they choose to reside within the state.
Governor Polis launched his initiative "Lets Get Ready" as chair of the National Governors Association during his attendance at the Convening in New York. The initiative focuses on driving innovative education policies to improve outcomes for students at all stages of their education journey and prepare them for the needs of Colorado's growing workforce.
Lt. Governor Primavera expressed her pride in signing this legislation into law and extended her gratitude to the advocates and leaders who made it possible. With this new law in place, Colorado continues to build a more inclusive and accessible state for all its residents.
