DENVER ~ In a surprising announcement today, Governor Jared Polis revealed that Kim Bimestefer, the Executive Director of the Department of Health Care Policy and Financing (HCPF), will be stepping down from her position in state government. Bimestefer has been in this role since January 2018, serving under both Governors Hickenlooper and Polis. She is the longest-serving HCPF Executive Director, having dedicated nine years to the position. Her last day will be on April 10.
Governor Polis expressed his gratitude for Bimestefer's dedication and passion for improving health care in Colorado. He commended her for her efforts to reduce health care costs and increase efficiency in the state.
