~ Colorado Springs - Due to impending rain, the closure of northbound South Nevada Avenue and the I-25 South Connector Road has been postponed to Sunday, Oct. 20 at 9 p.m. The closure was originally scheduled for Friday, Oct. 18 until Saturday, Oct. 19 at 5 a.m.
According to city officials, the northbound South Nevada Avenue closure will take place first and is expected to reopen before the I-25 South Connector Road closure. These closures are necessary for crews to move construction barriers in the area.
The closure will affect the stretch of Northbound South Nevada Avenue between Brookside Street and Interstate 25 ramps. The I-25 South Connector Road between South Tejon Street and South Nevada Avenue will also be closed during this time.

Travelers are advised to plan for additional travel time and seek alternate routes during this period. Detours have been put in place for northbound traffic on South Nevada Avenue, which should take Brookside Street to South Tejon Street and then proceed to I-25 South Connector Road before reaching South Nevada Avenue.
For southbound traffic on I-25, the detour route is through South Tejon Street to Brookside Street before reaching South Nevada Avenue.
