~ Colorado Springs, CO - After years of dedicated service, Britt Haley, Director of Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services for the City of Colorado Springs, has announced her retirement at the end of this year. The city has also announced that Assistant Director Kim King will take over as acting director while a national search is conducted for the next leader of the department.
Haley's retirement marks the end of a successful period for Colorado Springs' parks, trails, and open spaces. During her time as director, she has made significant progress in preserving and expanding access to these natural landscapes. Under her leadership, the city has acquired new land and completed major community projects that will benefit residents for years to come.
"Britt has been an exceptional leader for Colorado Springs," said Mayor Yemi Mobolade. "Her dedication to preserving our natural treasures and ensuring access for all residents has been truly remarkable. She leaves behind a legacy of conservation and inclusivity that will continue to shape our city."
