~ Colorado Springs Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services has announced the schedule for their popular Motorless Morning event in Garden of the Gods Park. The event, which eliminates motor vehicle access within the park, will take place on Sunday, April 28 from 5 a.m. to noon.
This year marks the third annual Motorless Morning, which was first introduced in April 2018. In addition to this event, the city will also be hosting monthly Early Bird Hike & Bikes from May through September. These events were first introduced in 2020 and have become a favorite among park visitors.
During Motorless Morning, all park rules and regulations will still apply, including speed limits. However, skateboards and longboards will be allowed on park roads. To ensure safety for all visitors, designated slow zones and one-way traffic will be implemented.

For those planning to attend Motorless Morning, parking is available at three locations: Garden of the Gods Visitor and Nature Center (1805 30th Street), Garden of the Gods Trading Post (324 Beckers Lane in Manitou Springs), and an overflow parking lot at Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site (corner of 30th Street and Gateway Road). Visitors with disabilities can also utilize designated parking in the overflow lot and request an accessible vehicle into the main parking lot.
In addition to Motorless Morning, Early Bird Hike & Bikes will take place on five Wednesdays throughout the summer from 5-8 a.m. These events are subject to normal park rules and regulations, meaning skateboards and longboards are not permitted during these times.
The dates for Early Bird Hike & Bikes are as follows: May 29, June 26, July 31, Aug. 28 and Sept. 25. Any updates or changes to this schedule will be publicized by the city.
Both Motorless Morning and Early Bird Hike & Bikes provide a unique opportunity for visitors to experience the beauty of Garden of the Gods Park without the noise and pollution of motor vehicles. So mark your calendars and don't miss out on these exciting events!
